A Confident Thankgiving For YOU

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

In my two decades of ministry, I have had the most conversations in response to individuals asking “What is God’s will for my life?”  I love to write for, converse and pray with hungry hearts for God seeking Him for the answer to this godly question.   In fact, the very important mission of my ministry, mobilizing each person in his or her personal ministry, can serve as an answer to this common question.  I want to directly share with you as we are approaching Thanksgiving an answer to that question.

God’s Word breathes confidence into you concerning His will for your life.  And the answer is found in whom you dwell, Christ Jesus: “In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Let’s enter into the holidays this Thanksgiving, giving thanks to the Lord, for He is good!  A thankful heart prepares the way to walk confidently in God’s good, pleasing and perfect will for YOUR life!

Today, write a short thank you note to Jesus.  Feel free to leave it in the comment section below.  Will you help us today reach our Giving Tuesday Goal?  Donate above.  Today, YOUR donation or new monthly pledge can reach the Giving Tuesday goal before midnight November 28.  All giving is tax deductible.

Thank you for mobilizing personal ministries with us!

Todd & Logan’s Journey: Student, Friend, Supporter

Call it divine intervention. It was the fall semester of 2010 when I came across a young-something

Logan and I outside a local coffee shop after out regular 1-to-1 discipleship meetings. Yes, the was when i had long hair blending in with the artistic crowds when i was on staff with the Navigators at the University of North Texas. "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others (2 Timothy 2:2)."

Yes, the was when i had long hair blending in with the artistic crowds when i was on staff with the Navigators at the University of North Texas. “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others (2 Timothy 2:2).”

man with long streaked hair, glasses, wearing boots bedizened to the laces in Union Jack colors. His name was Todd Lollar, that is “Lollar like dollar,” and he was kind, encouraging, and would not stop talking about Jesus.

Speaking of which, Jesus had just reentered my list of priorities, as I had just (re)dedicated my life to Him. Todd has a way of encouraging people to make priority list in regard to what they value most. He encouraged me to follow his lead by making Him top priority. I was a sophomore in college and hungry for something greater than this world had to offer. For two years Todd ministered to me one-on-one and to this day, when I share my continually lengthening God story, he is always included as one of the pivotal figures God had cast in this epic drama of the ages.

I don’t take lightly the spiritual encouragement God brought me through Todd, especially during those darker days of my journey through the wilderness. Todd built my faith every time we met. He continually reminded me of the abundance of God’s grace. How I have been made clean in His sight. Who we are positionally in Christ. That we have been made complete in Him. That I have been transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of Light and now an official ambassador for Christ and His Kingdom. This was the best news I had ever heard and has affected my ministry greatly, in that its all reproducible- disciples who make disciples.

God has done a lot through our friendship and continues to do more. As God loves a cheerful giver, I’m so happy to partner with Todd and Marissa.

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7).

I speak from personal experience, that God has gifted them to encourage, equip and edify young men and women of faith to be the salt and light of the world, right where they live, work and play. Will you prayerfully consider partnering with my wife and I in joining Todd and Marissa’s team as monthly financial partners?

Make Disciples: Not Just A Great Suggestion

The 2nd Annual DFW Nav20s Disciple-making Training

No time in human history has had as many suggestions as there are in today’s culture. We have a FullSizeRenderplethora of suggestions to choose from when we type a problem to be solved into Google.  There is such a high need for disciples of Jesus to advance God’s Kingdom.  I wonder if we can find these disciples if we Google, “Where do I find disciples of Christ?” I’m sure we can find a lot of opinions and suggestions.  However, Jesus answers this clearly and His answer is more than just one of thousands of suggestions.  Jesus answers with a command:

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20

“Go therefore and make disciples” is not a mediocre suggestion like we receive thousands of when we type a question into a search engine.  Jesus gives you and me this great mission by commanding, not suggesting, His followers “make disciples”.

“Make disciples ” is not just a suggestion but a command, an overflow of Jesus’ intimate love for us after He died for you and me on the cross!!!  This commandment is the Great Commission!  Why is it so great?! God, Himself, is inviting you and me to join Him in His great mission to help others know Christ and to make Him known…to be disciples and make disciples.

The second annual DFW Nav20s Disciple-making Training is this summer.  It’ll be four days 2:00-4:00 on Sunday afternoons June.   If you are a twenty-something in the Dallas/Fort Worth area who is interested in being trained to make a disciple or know a twenty who is,  invite them to be apart of this rare opportunity in the Bible Belt.  WE ONLY HAVE 6 MORE SLOTS AVAILABLE.  Contact me to enroll or if you have questions.  First, let me ask you:

  • What is holding you back from making a disciple?
  • Who do you feel led to intentionally meet with to disciple?
  • When are you going to ask your key person to start this journey with you?

Our mission work among 20s is only made possible by ministry financial partners.  Will you become a monthly financial ministry partner with us today?  Click here to start your tax-deductible monthly donation.
